Start with the size you wore before pregnancy. That is also what the Find my fit tool next to the sizes asks for, and it suggests a size for this exact piece. Every style comes in XS to XL.

Choose by the cut. Pieces described with room over the bump, an over-the-bump waistband or an open front (cardigans, coats and blazers) are the ones to pick for the last months. Close, fitted knits stretch with you but sit closer as your bump grows.

For close, fitted pieces, the larger size gives you more room later in pregnancy. For relaxed and oversized cuts, your usual size is normally enough. You are always welcome to send us your measurements and the piece you like before you order.

Usually when your own waistbands start to feel snug, often somewhere in the second trimester. Open cardigans, coats and relaxed dresses work from early on, so they make a good first buy. Delivery takes 2 to 4 weeks, so order a little ahead of when you need it.
Mostly natural fibres: extra-fine merino wool, merino with cashmere, silk blends and cotton. The exact composition is listed on every product under Details, so you always know what is against your skin.

Extra-fine merino is spun from a much finer fibre than ordinary wool, which is why it feels soft rather than scratchy for most people. If wool never agrees with you, choose one of our cotton or silk blend pieces instead. The fabric is named on every product.
Our knits, jersey and stretch denim have natural give and move with you. A few tailored trousers have no stretch in the fabric itself, so they sit on a high, elasticated waistband over the bump instead. Each product description tells you which it is.
Merino breathes and draws moisture away from your skin, so it stays comfortable across a wide range of temperatures. Open cardigans and layers also make it easy to adjust through the day, from a cold morning to a warm waiting room.
Follow the care note on each piece. Most of our wool and cashmere is washed by hand in cold water or on a wool cycle, then dried flat, which keeps its size and shape. Cotton pieces can go in the machine on cold, and a few tailored pieces are dry clean only.

That is the idea behind most of the collection. Open cardigans, coats, blazers and relaxed knits are cut to work before, during and after pregnancy. Pieces with an over-the-bump waistband are made for the months of pregnancy itself.
Pieces that open at the front give the easiest access: button cardigans, wrap and cross front tops, or an open cardigan over a nursing top. Our Wool Wrap Nursing Sweater is cut with a wrapped front for exactly this.
Not every piece is made for nursing, so if access matters, email us the style and we will tell you.
Relaxed cuts, open fronts and pieces with a tie belt or drawstring adapt best while your body settles, because you set the waist yourself each day. Close, fitted knits are better saved for when your size feels steady again.
Yes, many pieces work from day one. Some product galleries show the same style on pregnant and non-pregnant models, so you can see how it looks at each stage before you choose.
Soft knit sets, open cardigans and relaxed dresses you can pull on in seconds. Look for front openings if you are feeding, and natural fibres that feel gentle on tired skin.
Shipping is free on every order within the United States. We do not ship outside the US at the moment.
We prepare your order in 1 to 4 business days (Monday to Friday), then it is on its way to you. Allow 2 to 4 weeks in total from the day you order. If you need something for a date, like a baby shower or a photo shoot, order early.
You will get a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number and a link to follow it. Tracking can take 24 to 48 hours after dispatch to show updates. If you order several pieces, they may arrive in separate parcels.
Yes, within 24 hours of placing it. Email admin@mamarienne.com with your order number. After that your order may already be in preparation and changes may not be possible.
Of course. Enter her address at checkout and it ships free anywhere in the US. Not sure of her size? Open cardigans, coats and relaxed knits are the most forgiving choice, and unworn pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery.
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Pieces need to be unworn, in their original condition and packaging. Ask us first: returns must be approved before you send them back.
We do not do direct exchanges. Return the original once it is approved and place a new order for the size you need. Ordering the new size straight away means you are not left waiting.
Email admin@mamarienne.com with your order number and the reason. We aim to reply within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, and send the return address and instructions by email. Please use a tracked service.
For a change of mind or a size that does not fit, return shipping is yours to cover and is not refunded. If a piece arrives faulty, damaged or wrong, tell us within 7 days with a photo and we replace it at no cost.
As soon as your return arrives and has been checked, we refund it to your original payment method. Allow up to 7 business days for it to show, depending on your bank. Pieces marked final sale on the product page or at checkout cannot be returned.

Fit over the bump
I'm 37 weeks and was running out of things I could wear outside the house. Ordered this hoping it would get me through the last few appointments. It fits my belly comfortably and I wore it to lunch after my checkup too. My mom took a photo of us and for once I actually liked how my clothes looked. Have worn it again since then.
Didn't expect to wear this quite so often! It feels really soft, which is usually the thing that decides whether I keep something. Tried it on with no particular plans to go anywhere and ended up wearing it to meet a friend that evening.
I'm twenty two weeks along and this feels good even after a long afternoon out.
Three months after my baby arrived and this is the dress I reach for most. The polo collar buttons at the placket, and the loose straight cut means I can nurse without any fuss. The knit is thick and the merino and cashmere blend feels soft on my skin. I wear it on its own with leggings, or open over a shirt when I want a layer. It still looks neat after a few washes of normal wear. Got the charcoal and might order the black too.
